17 Suspects Arrested in Connection with Boynton Beach Drug Bust

As a result of a drug sweep set up by DEA agents, 17 suspects have been arrested and charged with drug trafficking. Various law enforcement agencies participated with the DEA in the bust, and they exposed a trafficking ring that sold over 45,000 Oxycodone pills obtained from various pharmacies throughout South Florida.

Using stolen prescription pads, dealers obtained Oxycodone bottles with approximately 180 pills per bottle. The illegally obtained prescription drugs were sold for around $20 to $30 per pill; one bottle alone could bring in over $3,000. The medical center where the prescription pads were stolen from was dissolved in September 2012 by the Florida State Division of Corporations. One individual listed on the LLC corporate filings claimed that he had no knowledge of the operation, and another could not be reached.
