Born in the picturesque city of Santa Rosa, California, and raised in the vibrant and culturally rich Memphis, Tennessee, Brent Lightfoot’s journey into the legal profession is marked by excellence, a passion for justice, and a heart dedicated to making a difference in the lives of his clients.

Brent’s academic prowess and dedication to his studies were evident during his high school years, where he excelled as an Advanced Placement (AP) student. His exceptional abilities led him to be recognized as a National Merit Scholar, a testament to his commitment to academic excellence.

Following his high school journey, Brent embarked on a remarkable educational path. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Reed College in the thriving city of Portland, Oregon. His time at Reed College was marked not only by academic achievements but also by his sense of responsibility and commitment to the community. Brent’s peers recognized his integrity and leadership qualities, appointing him as a student member of the Judicial Board by the Student Senate. In this role, he played a vital part in adjudicating violations of the Reed College Honor Code, displaying a deep understanding of ethics and accountability.

Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Brent’s unwavering commitment to the pursuit of justice led him to law school. After earning his law degree at Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, GA, he received a prestigious offer from Bob Wesley to work as an Associate Public Defender in Orlando, Florida. In this role, Brent handled a large caseload of criminal cases, helping thousands of indigent clients navigate the criminal justice system. After 4 years, he joined a private firm as an associate. There, he took on a wide array of legal challenges, from criminal defense cases to contract disputes and custody battles to divorces, victim cases, and employment lawsuits. His dedication to his clients’ well-being and his ability to navigate complex legal matters earned him the trust and respect of those he served.

In 2018, Brent was admitted to the Florida Bar, a significant milestone in his legal career that further solidified his commitment to upholding the law and seeking justice for his clients.

Beyond his legal pursuits, Brent Lightfoot is a multifaceted individual with a passion for creative expression. He enjoys freestyle writing, delving into the depths of a good novel, and strumming the strings of his guitar to unwind and find inspiration. Alongside these personal interests, he shares a special bond with his loyal and beloved companion, Bernard, a Basset hound mix with a touch of chocolate lab.
